Hope Partners Costa Rica Internship invites young people with a heart for missions to come and serve the Lord during summer break. I am honored to be chosen to be an intern this summer. I will be serving alongside programs of rescue and transformation within the Hope Center in Costa Rica. I will also be leading within the short-term mission teams as a representative of our Hope Partners Costa Rica staff and I will be taking part in discipleship surrounding service with compassion and leadership training and development.

I want to be an intern with Hope Partners because I want to help people and show God’s love through that process. When I first read about the community of Pavas, I was struck by how it is directly in the heart of San Jose, the capital of the beautiful and tourist-rich Costa Rica. I learned that there are great disparities within the nation, and that these people live in deep inequality compared to the rest of the country. I was filled with a desire to go and serve these people, to go share the gospel with them and a new hope in Christ.

I love working with children, and my previous experience working with refugee children allowed me to realize the joy that comes from serving people in need and sharing God’s love to them through that process. Interning with Hope Partners would be a wonderful opportunity to do exactly that. I also love soccer very much, and believe this could be a bridge for me to connect with the children despite initial language barriers. All in all, each thought of serving this community in Costa Rica brings me to such excitement, and I also know that this experience would make me learn so much more about the Lord. I would be honored to be a member of a team that places the Lord at the center of their mission, and interning with Hope Partners this summer would truly be a transformational experience for me.
